'Ere we sleep tonight, we shall thus dine on a fanciful feast of heretofore mentioned

Tuesday Tour

This cacophony of books is in the hallway. There's a crate for each child under 13 and one for Mean Ol' Mama. There's scrap paper, markers, etc. for activities. It looks a bit messy, but Spanish/English/Greek/Latin/and all the subjects take up quite a space. Works for us so far...

Stennes made the "throne" chair and the wheelbarrow shelf. The bowl on the floor is a wildly wonderful gift from Pop. Josiah made the giant lure hanging in the window, full of "fish" of varying materials. The NO WHINING is from a sale years ago, and the little sign hanging beside it reads, "If at first you don't succeed, do it like your mother told you." And we'll end the tour on that note...

Monday Muse

Another fifty pounds of flour into the flour bin...The Girl is baking up a storm, and her latest Apple Dapple Cupcakes with Brown Sugar Drizzle were a major hit this morning up at the school. Not a single cupcake left in the whole, gigantic tray...

Friday Finale

The Girl baked Giant ChocoChip Butterfinger Cookies for the teachers at school. She has made it her mission to bake goodies every Monday morning for the faculty in order to give us a "sweet" start to our week. Gotta love a girl like that...

Branch worked cattle yesterday and did pressure washing, yard work, and other outdoor jobs for a cousin today. He and ChubChub are soon to be off for a night of camping and "boy" stuff. The Girl will be cleaning house for the same cousin tomorrow; Josiah and Anders will be sleeping in a bit and doing homework; Stennes has been working on a cranky jet ski; Poppins will be camping with the boys and working at the property with the bulls; Mean Ol' Mama will spend this weekend trying to find her elusive "groove"...
EDIT ALERT: Anders will NOT be sleeping in; instead, he will be leaving very early in the morning to his 4-H Landing Judging competition.

Think-About-It Thursday

This beautiful stack of books needs to be read by August 19th. Hmmm. These are part of our Seekers class, and there's an additional stack of Grammar/Composition, Greek, Latin, and Math that needs to be finished, too. Go, go, go...

Our friend Guy made this unique hanger for Mean Ol' Mama's birthday. He bought vintage spoons and flattened them to use as hooks. Very special touch, eh?
