A Story of Losing and Finding...and rambling...

What a sad boy! One of the dwarf hamsters has escaped and could possibly be lost forever somewhere in Mean Ol' Mama's house. Woe, woe, for Charm has fled the safety of her cage... Perhaps if we place water in a little dish, she'll come for a drink, and then....POUNCE!! A plan is formed...
But wait! Where is a source of water in the house? Behind the washing machine! Let's pull it out, use the flashlight, block the exits with towels. She's there! Poor shivering little hamster. "Me meto atras, Mami..." ["I'll climb behind..."] Does Anders grab her? No, he woos her so lovingly that she escapes, racing to the front of the machine where Mean Ol' Mama isn't so nice. GRAB!! SNATCH!! AH-HA!!!
And so the story ends happily. Charm is safe again, and Anders is again the proud owner of two dwarf hamsters.
Mean Ol' Mama has not escaped unscathed. Notice the bite on her pinky finger? Such is the price for snatching up an unsuspecting hamster. Motherhood is a dangerous profession indeed.
Meanwhile, Josiah is cleaning The Shop and discovers a new hair-do. A bit dry on the ends, perhaps, but the color is very flattering (for a clown, that is). Silly boys are quickly grown into serious men, so these days are precious.
Spanish math goes by much more quickly when done with friends. The hamsters are now 1 + 1= 2, and we hope they don't learn how to multiply [ahem...].
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching...off to play???
Times with Poppins are so special, especially when you're a little girl enjoying his deep voice and gentle smile.
The boys just want to test their manliness against his. Do you think they'll ever best him? Time will tell...
It's wiser to pick on someone your own size. Poppins sets them up to test their mettle. The food boxes were a gift to us to be passed on to others. That's a blessing, and we know many who are in need.
Mean Ol' Mama was kind enough to fix the kids their favorite meal of chalups con frijol y arroz [tostadas with beans and rice]. It's a bit of work but this meal still meets our Third World & $5.00-a-meal standards. Yummy!
Tuesday afternoon Chan brought the kids gifts from her boss. They're eagerly awaiting the "go-ahead" to tear open their packages. What could it be?
Hey, look at that! They all have welding caps, including ChubChub (who's asleep when the photo was made). These will certainly be useful in The Shop with all of their projects. And The Girl? She received a sweet little necklace. Welding isn't on her "To Do" list...
