Go, go, go!!

Poppins brought home sand and mortar that got wet during a delivery he was making to a job site. His company can not sell wet mortar, so he arrived unexpectedly at the house during a rainy schoolday last week. He and the boys got busy making a ramp for the basketball court. Poppins had to return to his job, so the boys were left alone to do the finish work on the concrete. We're very proud of them.

Josiah and Anders shucked, cut, bagged and froze a crate of corn that was given to us earlier in the week. It is so sweet and delicious, like summer on a cob!
ChubChub found a baby ear of corn and was giving it a kiss. This kid has too much personality.
Saturday morning we went to Lake Seminole for the June Bug Fishing Rodeo. The kids helped out cupping worms for the contestants. Slimy...
Stennes was the Roving Reporter for the event and he snapped a nice shot of the participants. The fishing competition lasts for just one hour and is for ages 1-12.
ChubChub was the only participant in the 1-3 age division. He really had a good time. Why is he wearing a lifejacket on dry land? Because he has fallen into the pond every year for the last 2 years!
Well, ChubChub didn't fall into the water this year, but The Girl certainly did. Her shoes were just a little too slippery around the edge of the pond. Anders graciously gave her a hand out of the water!
Branch won first prize in his age division with a grand total of 1 fish caught! Hey, we were desperate! The fish weren't biting at all, so we counted whatever ended up on the hook.
Anders won first place in his age group with 2 hooked critters: one turtle and one fish.
And of course ChubChub won by a landslide. It's easy when you're the only one in your age group. Their goody bags had a lot of neat things stuffed inside.
The Girl won a fishing pole in a drawing. She's just as sweet as her pretty pole.

We have been out preaching in the camps about 4 nights a week. Sunday evening we went to the Haitians and snapped a picture of this little girl taking a rest in the rain.
We crowded under the shed to get out of the rain. We had a lovely, lovely time with this group.

And now for a picture of the butterfly bush that is blooming so beautifully in the side yard...
