Busy Friday

We awoke early this morning to attend a "going out of business" sale at a local restaurant. The owners also homeschooled their children, so there were many interesting items for sale. The boys especially enjoyed buying power tools (on the floor). Mean Ol' Mama was excited to buy 11 teeny bread pans, about 3" long. The Girl can't wait to bake gift breads in those. After the sale, we headed to Cordele, about 1 1/2 hours away, to pick up a very important bag for Uncle Tim. We also visited the Georgia Veterans Memorial Park where there was a small museum. The following pictures show the boys' interest. We have read quite a bit of war history, including tactical studies, so these reading were fresh in their minds. The museum displayed Revolutionary War through the Gulf War memorabilia.

Outside were quite a few large military machines, such as planes, tanks, guns, etc.

We also visited the beach at the park for just a few minutes. The boys wanted to race to the water and dive in as quickly as possible. Ready, set...

And GO!! Forget about diving, though ; the deepest part of the swimming area came up to their knees. Oh well, at least they got wet.

And the important bag we drove 3 hours to pick up for Uncle Tim? Here it is, folks. A whopping 5 pounds of...earthworms. Wriggly. Slimy. Stretchy. Earthworms. Yes, I'm serious.
