Last evening we participated in a seminar given by a paleontologist from Tallahassee. He was a very engaging speaker and was very amiable with the children. Although I didn't agree with him theologically, I still admired his poise and experience. The children all seemed to enjoy his information and were very eager to participate in asking and answering questions. There were over 70 people in attendance, with snacks afterwards (also a favorite with the children). The presenter told me as he was leaving that he had never seen children who were allowed to participate with the adults; they were usually in a class by themselves. I told him that our children are encouraged to participate, to think as an adult, to reason out both questions and answers. He was very impressed with the young folks, and I was pleased by their behavior and interest.
